Copying a Custom Neural Voice Model to Another Project in New UI

I'm trying to follow the documentation steps for copying a custom neural voice model to another project as outlined here. However, it appears that the UI has changed since the documentation was written, and I'm unable to locate the "Copy to project" option on the Train model tab.

Could you please clarify the updated steps in the current interface for copying a custom neural voice model to another project?

You're absolutely right the Azure Speech Studio UI has recently been updated, and it appears that the documentation hasn't yet been updated to reflect these changes. As a result, the "Copy to project" option that was previously available under the Train model tab may have been relocated or replaced with a new workflow.

Here’s how you can proceed in the updated interface:

Ensure you're logged in with the correct credentials.

Go to Custom Voice > Models in the Speech Studio.

Locate the custom neural voice model you wish to copy and click on its name.

The copy-related options may now appear as "Clone," "Export," or "Add to project", possibly located under a three-dot menu (⋯) or in the action bar.

If the copy option is available, select the target Subscription, Region, Speech resource, and Project. If the destination project doesn't exist yet, you may need to create one first.

Since the rollout of UI changes can vary across tenants and regions, I also recommend:

Submitting feedback directly through the Speech Studio interface to share your experience.

Checking the Azure Updates page for announcements related to Speech Studio enhancements or UI changes.

I'm sorry. These instructions didn't help. This doesn't seem to be a valid path: Custom Voice > Models.

Go to Custom Voice > Models in the Speech Studio. Locate the custom neural voice model you wish to copy and click on its name. The copy-related options may now appear as "Clone," "Export," or "Add to project", possibly located under a three-dot menu (⋯) or in the action bar.

@SriLakshmi C As you can see in the screenshots below, there's no UI under the three-dot menu or the action bar for either Speech Studio > Custom Neural Voice or Speech Studio > Custom Neural Voice > Deploy Model:

Please ensure that you're creating a Custom Neural Voice project specifically, as the "Lite" project type does not support Custom Neural Voice features. This distinction is important to access the relevant options and capabilities.

Could you please confirm whether you're selecting the model from within a specific project, as shown in the screenshot below? This step is important, as the "Copy to project" option will only appear when a model is accessed inside its project context. If you're viewing the model from outside the project or from a general list, certain options may not be visible.

Please refer this Update engine version for your voice model.

So, you're saying a CNV Lite model cannot be copied to another project and that's the reason I'm not seeing the "Copy to project" option in the UI?

If that's the case, are there any workaround methods to do what we need? Like using the training phrases to build a new Lite model in another project?

We already have access to Custom Neural Voice Pro. So, no problem there.

So, there's no way to extract the training phrase from the Lite project to another resource then?

That’s correct in the current setup, Lite projects do not support exporting or reusing training phrases across different resources or project types. This limitation means you won't be able to extract training phrases from a Lite project for use in another resource.

However, since you’ve mentioned that you already have access to Custom Neural Voice Pro, that’s great to move forward. To take advantage of export and reuse capabilities, you can create a new project under the Neural Pro tier, where these advanced features are supported.

Yes exactly, the feature you're referring to is only supported for Neural Pro projects. Based on the screenshot you shared, it looks like you're currently using a Lite project, which does not support this capability by default. To access this feature under a Lite project, you’ll need to raise a request for enablement first. Please refer to the screenshot below for further clarification. User's image
